Add the free Chrome extension
The extension downloads comments on your computer. This beta uses a manual installation.
- Download the extension ZIP and extract it to a folder.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin desktop Chrome and enable Developer mode. - Click Load unpacked and select the folder containing
manifest.json. - Return here, , and click Download.
Keep the extracted folder in place. Already using our earlier prototype? Load this updated version to connect it to the website.
How to download YouTube comments

Copy the URL of a YouTube video and paste it above.

The extension opens a capture tab and collects comments and replies.

Choose Basic or Enhanced after the capture completes. Read it offline anytime.
Download the conversation, replies included
CommentDownload saves YouTube comments as a readable HTML file, with replies kept in their threads. Basic gives you a simple layout. Enhanced adds reply guides and creator highlights. Both are free during beta.
There are no comment-count or request-count caps. If collection stops early or fails completeness checks, HTML export stays unavailable. YouTube may withhold or remove comments, so we cannot guarantee access to every comment.
Privacy & local processing
The extension sends requests directly to YouTube and creates the HTML on your computer. Captured comments are not sent to this website. Your video link is kept in this tab’s session storage so it survives installation and a page reload, then cleared when a capture opens. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser.
This site has no analytics scripts, account system, or payment form. Hosting providers and YouTube still receive normal connection information when your browser contacts them. There is no AI processing in this beta.
